The Capitol Centre is gearing up for its first ever Band Wars competition. This local band showcase is for high school garage bands and takes place on Saturday, June 2nd, 2007 from 11 am–10 pm. The band registration deadline is Friday, May 25, 2007 at 5 pm, and it only costs $20 per band to register. To attend the full day of auditions and performances you can purchase tickets in advance for $7 or pay $10 at the door.

With the support of local businesses and fans, we are hopeful that we can make this an annual family-friendly band festival at the Capitol Centre. Any money that we make will go back into the Band Wars fund to make next year’s event bigger and better.

We are currently looking for prize donations in the form of clothing, gift certificates, sports and music equipment and anything else that would appeal to the 14-18 age group. If you are interested in donating a prize please call Lisa at 474-1944 ext. 250 by Tuesday, May 29th. Your sponsorship will be recognized on a sponsor board, and be acknowledged by our MC at Band Wars 2007.
